Automatic saw stop

Hi all-

Since everyone is showing their saw upgrades, I will show you what we are working on in the shop.

This is a semi automatic Cosen miter bandsaw.

We started making the new in feed and out feed aluminum conveyor rollers. We only have 1/2 of the rollers installed as of now, but it is usable.

There is a keypad and display mounted on the saw (gray box) that contains a Arduino controller and display. Once it is finished, we should be able to enter in a measurement and the stop should move to that position.

The next step is to automate the miter function of moving the head.

Slow and steady

Steve

Interesting. This is just automatically setting the stop, correct? The operator still has to move the stock manually through the saw until it contacts the stop?

I'm thinking about doing an outfeed with a stop at some point and had never really considered automating it. Definitely an interesting idea with the availability of Arduino stuff.

Graham-

The Cosen saw automatically raises and lowers. So we have to manually move the material.

I am looking forward to the automatic turning of the miter head. All Day changing the angle sucks.
