Scootek, do you still have this BTA and would you be interested in doing a version of this cage in an extra cab? I don't know if you're still doing paid fab work with the day job taking over. My brother loves the design and doesn't have the time to build it himself. He does have cash though.

I do have the file, and I would be interested. However, the day job has taken over. Im home only 8 days a month, I travel alot. My tools have sheets and towels over them to keep the dust off. Its freakin sad. I wouldnt know when I could even get around to finish the projects ive been sitting on the last 4 years. I wish I could find a shop to work in that paid what I make now so I could build all the time.

10 years ago this month, I started on this cage. Truck is still going. In fact its at my house right now getting a little more. The front core has been cut off and we are cutting into the fire wall to tie into the cage. Putting the chaos coil over kit on this one and doing a full front end. Its a trip working on this truck after ten years. Man I forgot a lot! Usually in the past I have been sickened by my older work. On seeing this one, Im intimidated adding to it cause the guy before me did a good job! We were talking about doing the back of this truck after the front is finished. Straight cutting behind the cab and all new. This time with 4 link. Of course its a project that we are nibbling on once a week for a few hours. I actually turned on the computer this morning to find the file for this cage so I could start drawing the front of it. Havent used Bend-Tech in so long Im affraid to find out what I remember. I have alot of catching up to do with posting pictures and everything that used to come easy on the interweb. If the work turns out any good I will share it.
trying to use The OFN to host for now. Dont know how it got turned

That's some serious suspension hardware! Look forward to seeing how you tie it into the main cage. What kind of suspension will be going out back?
You're right about that last guy - very talented fabricator! 10 years has slipped by so quickly. Seems like you were just recently building this cage.

Trying E, but life is busy.
Got the sickness this weekend so nothing got done. We were hoping to bend some pieces and start the framework of the engine cage this weekend. Should next week.

I was digging through photos and found some scanned images from April 2006 of a white wrangler that I think you did the cage on. Do you know what ever happened to that jeep?

Wow, this thread started about the same time I joined the site. Great work, then and now!
I'm very much part of the crowd that is spending what few hours I have actually doing something, sharing with the world (aside from the quick upload to Instagram) has fallen behind. It is what it is...

Clint, that jeep is still going. That's the one we re did years ago.
We did a bit more demo this weekend. Finished cutting through the fire wall stuff to expose the cage in 4 spots. Welded a couple spots left from the original install. Found the file after digging through 2 computers. Added a large perimeter piece and was about to bend it. The material we got we had cut at 10 foot. Needed 125 inches to form this part. So next weekend should be cool with pics

That last pic with the card board, if you can imagine 4 of those going accross the top of the shock mounts. Then boxed in. With a hydralic bump stop sticking through and maybe some dimples. All TIG welded. Thats the hope. Will show you later, but most of you can see it.

That looks great. My brother made a similar box-style shock mount for his. I think it looks awesome, but also sort of out of place with everything else being round. Maybe with some swoopy plate gussets and dimple holes it will blend into the round tube better. Look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Well, the only way to get this forum active again is to post.
Im heading over to where this truck is today.
Entire back of the truck has been cut off.
4 link is going in.
I will get some pictures today and try and update what has been missed.
Just need to find how and where to host pictures.

Good deal...I've just been lurking around checking in to see about any new posts, but, there haven't been many. I'll try to post some stuff every once in a while to help get folks back active. This is a GREAT site, and has been an incredibly valuable resource, and I hate to see it with this little traffic.

Somehow I missed your last post between the tumble weeds. I'm happy to hear you are working on it again. For adding photos, I've had good luck with the attachment feature when posting. Just today my brother was asking about this build again; due to some life changes his truck has been collecting dust for a long long time, but he's ready to dust off the bender and get back to work too.
