Many customers are creating their plate and sheet metal parts in Bend-Tech SM (or the SM module) and are in need of sending their design via a dxf file to a CAM system for cutting on a plasma table or laser. If this is something you will need to do, here are the steps:
1. Create the part in Bend-Tech SM as normal.
2. Select the File pull-down menu and then Export -> Data (.dxf).
You may also select the Export button located under the Tools tab.
3. Select the name and save location for the file in the Export DXF File dialog and then select Save.
4. On the Plate Export dialog (shown below), select the Path (Polylines) method for CAM software (this is the default method).
5. Select the OK button to finish the export.
Note: Using the Current Display setting under the What to Export section will export any and all features currently displayed.
