Project Lady Bug

This rig came in for some updating and some unhackery.

I previously repaired the rear links when he ripped the cross member and misc items.

New parts included D60 rear
My original HP D60 i swapped to pass side. This needed to be shortened 2" for his new (used) RCV's
Solid Knuckles
BTF prototype truss with ram mount (i love the truss!) I worked with James at BTF on modifying the truss to work with various width axles.

Well, on to the pics.

How it came in.

First order of business...putting the owner to work..

Rear done, planning ride height

Prepping the truss.

Checking for clearances

Factory Toyota radiators hang way low... and with plans of a turbo later, installed an RX7 radiator. Had to do some more aluminum welding relocating the lower neck... damn i suck at aluminum welding!

Trying to fit the grill, winch, and the light bar sucked, so the grill got omitted. Also didnt want a tall stinger and wanted a flowing fender/hood bar...

A lot had to be relocated and cleaned up...

Loaded up ready to shakedown..

Shake down run was at Hale Mountain in Alabama

WB ended up at 113"
40" Treps

The fender bars were a pain since I left BT at home...trying to remember old school bending on 3-4 planes sucked...but it all worked out.

Nice rework and nice rig! Hale Mountain is always a fun place. We kept passing you the other way at Feb Jam in my buddy's white TJ on 40s. We didn't make it to the March ride though.

He took it to Adventure Offroad Park and played around on Area51.
I have never seen him drive into situations like this.. before, he'd be scared from the floppiness
