Project Research

Hey folks-

Just curious how you all keep track of your project research notes.

As we all know, researching a project/build/modification/etc can lead you down some LENGTHY rabbit holes. Sometimes never to return....

I'm sure we all have stacks of papers/notepads/etc laying around with notes,
thoughts and the like. Maybe notes in our phone or a random napkin with a sketch.

But these methods scatter the information about. And finding a specific piece of information could be a challenge, depending on the depth of the research.

This makes me wonder if putting my notes in Word, or Excel (for comparisons, etc) or some other digital format might make more sense.

So tell me. How are you guys keeping your notes??

Thanks in advance!

I've kept them in both Word, and Excel, as well as OneNote too. I also upload everything to it's own particular folder on OneDrive, so I can access it from anywhere if I need to. I have OneDrive set up on my phone as well, so, if I need to reference something, or check out a picture for clarity or something, everything is right there, and available. I use Business 365 at work, as well as MS Teams, so, with that, I also run the Word, Excel, and MS Teams apps on my phone. it makes it really handy to be able to reference everything that way.

This is exactly the kind of thing I was thinking.
Using OneDrive is brilliant! I'll have to get that set up!

Thanks!
