Heat in the shop

I have about 1850SF that remains without heat.
I think I would like to put in a pellet 'furnace' but
I am having one heck of a time just a simple heat maker
that doesn't resemble lipstick on a Pig! I can find Wood
furnaces but they don't have the ability to
thermostatically regulate temperature...
AND there is the beginning of a push to eliminate them.

Am I chasing a Unicorn?

How cold does it get there and how long? 1850sf but how tall are the ceilings? 20ft plus peak of a ceilings adds alot of area to figure to heat. How good is your insulation.

Wood or pellet you'll have to light initially and reload. You can control heat pretty good if dampened.

Biggest thing IMO is whats your budget? If cheap a wood stove will work fine.

If you have alot of waste oil you can heat with it a simply dripping it into a fire box will provide heat. Tons of youtube videos on guys doing it.

If you have money the heat pump may work if its not to cold there.

I have pellet stoves in my house that run off of thermostats, they work great and I love them. I also have a older pellet stove in my work shop, its manually controlled and a pain in the butt as far as I am concerned for keeping even heat. That being said for my big shop I think that's what I'll use for taking the chill off for now, move it from my workshop to the big shop. The workshop is very well insulated and not too big so I plan to use a electric space heater. The CNC's keep it fairly warm so just a little more to keep it at 68-70. When I get everything insulated I'll get a free standing pellet stove that uses a t-stat for the big shop. Just my thoughts.

Coldest I have seen is -22*F mid-day in the direct sun.

I've seen several Pellet-stoves that are 40hr burn and auto ignite/start.

The pellet stoves in my house are auto-ignite.

I built a wood stove for my shop. This is going to be the third year for it. My shop is 5000 sq feet and 20 foot to the bottom of the truss. It takes 2 hours to get fro 30 to 60 degrees.

I will post pic pictures when I figure it out
