The best setup I have seen for roof attachment has been a frame of 3/4-1" tubing welded to split clamps then the roof skin welded or riveted to the tubing. This will be very strong but far heavier than just aluminum skin with "P" clamps as is the normal method.


The split clamps can be aluminum or steel and the frame the same. Any time I have ever seen a sheet material attached with the industry standard "P" clamp the sheet or the clamp eventually fatigues and cracks.
