Torchmate 4X4
I must start this thread with a HUGE thanks to the Torchmate team.
Especially Bill, Joe, and Jacob. After talking with Bill, he suggested going with the 4X4 table. He also wanted to send Jake to my house to make sure everything was the best it could be. Let me tell you, THIS is a freakin sweet, well built machine. Parts showed up and I tried to get the base setup before Jake got here. http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1630.jpg I was asking about the water pan support. I used the slat support mounting plates to pinch it to the frame. I also have a temporary support underneath untill I can build something else. A drain with hose going through the garage wall to the back yard. http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1633.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1634.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1636.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1638.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1637.jpg I am running about 3 3/4 deep of water in this 5 inch deep pan. Seems to work just fine. http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1635.jpg |
Then Jake showed up. This guy is way cool. At about 3:30 he shows up and says "hi Im Jake" and goes right at it.
He was working way north of me in Fresno that morning and then drove down to my house..... and worked till 11:30 last night!!! Very dedecated man, and was as excited as me to get into this. He knows the Torchmate machines and software very well and it showed. More pics!!! http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1640.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1646.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1650.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1651.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1654.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1657.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1659.jpg Good thing he is skinny to cause there was not much room for working around this table. He came back this morning and we got to cutting. Jake showed me the ropes on the software and he dialed in the machine. Then we just had fun with it. http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1662.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1663.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1667.jpg http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1668.jpg |
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1679.jpg
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...k/CIMG1673.jpg I got a cut video coming, as soon as I can get it uploaded. |

Wow, I can't wait to see how you apply your talents to CNC cutting. Looks like Torchmate is as awesome as their reputation! How many cases of beer and sheets of metal should I bring over? I think you need some practice. Yeah, that's it... practice. LOL.

You guys are too damn funny. Yeah I definitely married the right woman. She spent days on youtube watching CNC plasma videos. We don't have the room or coin right now, but I'm sure one is in my future. Until then, we'll live vicariously through scootek. |
do it

Go ahead and get one with the router and then sneak the plasma torch on the back side, she won't know any better until it's too late!! |
yeah I know, although the stuff she's found is made out of MDF... not so good with the flamze shooting and plazmaing :)
